Buy resale tickets for sold-out events in Lagos

If a Lagos concert or event has sold out, resale is how you can still get in: someone who bought a ticket and can’t go sells it on. On Ventril every seller has verified their NIN, a person checks every listing, and your payment is held until after the event, so you’re not sending money to a stranger and hoping.

Where to find tickets for a sold-out show

Start with the organiser. Some release extra tickets or open a waitlist, and that’s the cheapest way in.

After that, resale is your option. You can browse live listings on Ventril. If nothing is listed for your event yet, set a ticket alert on the browse page and we’ll let you know when one appears. Plans change, especially in the last few days before a show, so an alert is worth setting even if the event is weeks away.

How buying a resale ticket works on Ventril

  1. 01Open a listing. You see the seller’s price and the total you’ll pay before checkout.
  2. 02If you think the price is high, make an offer. Otherwise, go to checkout.
  3. 03Pay through Ventril’s checkout. Ventril holds the money; the seller isn’t paid yet.
  4. 04Your ticket appears in your dashboard. At mapped venues it stays locked until you’re at the venue, or until 3 hours before the event.
  5. 05At the event, tap “I got in” once you’re inside. If the ticket doesn’t work, open a dispute with evidence.

Are resale tickets real?

Most resale tickets are real tickets from people who can’t attend. The risks are a fake, or a real ticket that has been sold to more than one person.

On Ventril the seller uploads the ticket to us before the listing goes live, a person reviews every listing, and duplicate ticket files are flagged. That doesn’t make a bad ticket impossible, because we can’t see the organiser’s gate scanner. It’s why your money is held until after the event.

Resale prices and fees

Sellers set their own prices and there’s no cap. Some sell at face value or below because they just want their money back; others ask more for a sold-out show. Check the organiser’s face value so you know what you’re comparing against, and make an offer if a price looks high.

Ventril’s fee is 12% of the price, with a ₦150 minimum. The seller decides whether it’s added on top or taken from their payout. Either way, you see the total before you pay.

Last-minute tickets in Lagos

At mapped venues, tickets unlock when you’re at the venue or 3 hours before the event, whichever comes first, so a ticket bought on the day still reaches you in time.

Leave time for traffic, especially around Victoria Island and Lekki on December weekends, and keep your phone charged. Your ticket is in your Ventril dashboard, so you’ll need to be able to open it at the gate.

If the ticket doesn’t get you in

If it doesn’t get you in, you get your money back. Open a dispute between the start of the event and noon the next day and attach evidence, such as a photo at the gate or a message from the organiser’s staff. A person reviews both sides, and if you’re refunded, the money comes from the payment Ventril was holding.
