Why we built this

It was meant
to be a good night.

You’ve paid for the ticket and made your plans. Then a seller disappears, a code fails, or life gets in the way.

  1. A worried man checking his phone with a hand on his forehead, illustrating a buyer waiting for a reply

    THE DISAPPEARING SELLER

    For Tobi.

He sent the money. The seller stopped replying. He was left chasing a ticket he’d already paid for.

  2. An attendant checking a paper ticket at an entrance beside a ticket reader

    THE LETDOWN AT THE GATE

    For Zainab.

She reached the gate with her ticket ready. The code had already been scanned, and she couldn’t get in.

  3. A disappointed woman sitting on a sofa at home, illustrating changed plans and an unused ticket

    THE TICKET LEFT UNUSED

    For Adaeze.

She couldn’t make the event anymore. With nobody to buy her ticket, she stayed home and lost the money she’d spent.

These are the moments we’re building Ventril to change.

These stories are illustrative. Names and stock photos represent the situations described.

    The buyer pays

  3. 03 /

    Get your ticket

Your ticket is in your dashboard. For mapped venues, tickets stay locked until you confirm your location or until 3 hours before the event.

Tap ‘I got in’ only after you enter. This pays the seller immediately and ends your right to dispute.

    Get paid the next day

Payout is at noon WAT the day after the event starts, unless a dispute is open. Buyers can release it sooner by confirming entry.

How it works
  • Payment held

Your money stays with Ventril until payout. An open dispute pauses payment to the seller.

  • Listings reviewed

The seller’s NIN and payout account name must match before they can list.

  • Help with disputes

Send your evidence during the dispute window. We review both sides before deciding whether to refund you or pay the seller.

A note from the founder

A city skyline in black and white
A night out shouldn’t start with you wondering who you’ve sent your money to. We built Ventril so there’s a record of the sale and someone to turn to if it goes wrong.
DamilolaFounder, Ventril

Before you buy or sell.

Ventril holds it until noon WAT the day after the event starts. An open dispute pauses the payout. If you confirm you got in, we pay the seller immediately and your right to dispute ends.
